While our primary focus is literary representation, we are passionate about educating and guiding aspiring authors through our author coaching services. These authors are often not quite ready for traditional publishing, perhaps because their platform is in the earlier stages of development or their book concept is not fully fleshed out. Others may be trying to assess whether self-publishing is their best option, and if so, how to go about it. Our agency advises authors about various aspects of book publishing in relation to their career, setting realistic goals and offering strategies and tools for achieving them. One-on-one coaching is offered to authors not receiving literary representation from our agency, including aspiring, traditional and self-published authors across several different areas.
For aspiring authors, we offer: – Feedback, insight and guidance on the publishing process in relationship to the author’s career – Goal evaluation and publishing options – Strategies for platform development – Tips on developing a speaking career – Book proposal review, feedback, and innovative suggestions for emphasizing strengths and minimizing weaknesses – Book concept evaluation – Editorial assistance – Career visioning
For traditionally published authors, we offer: – Creative ideas for selling books, including corporate sponsors, relationship-based marketing, publicity and more – Guidance on leveraging your current platform into greater opportunities – Tips for garnering larger speaking fees and more speaking opportunities – Advice for “fork-in-the-road” authors: authors that have built a literary career in one genre and are considering going in another direction – Coaching on how to hire a business manager and/or office manager, from what to look for, to what to pay, and how to know when you’re ready for one – Advice on best options for book marketing programs, such as New York Times and Amazon Bestseller programs – Tools for taking a quantum-leap in your career as a non-fiction author
For self-published authors, we share: – Advice on the “nuts and bolts” of self-publishing: printing, distribution, warehousing, accounting – How to save money and time as a self-published author – Guidance on overcoming challenges specific to self-publishing – Aggressive strategies for book promotion Our mission is to help authors get clear about their publishing dreams and to empower them to achieve those dreams.
